Sealed BIDS for the 2015 WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT will be received by the Village of North Aurora at the Village Hall until 10:00 A.M. (Local Time), on the 19th day of February 2015, and then at said office and time, publicly opened and read aloud.
The proposed improvements consist of replacing the 6-inch watermain with approximately 321 LF of new 12” ductile iron pipe, 3,525 LF of new 8-inch ductile iron pipe, and 95 LF of new 6” ductile iron pipe, CL 52, the replacement of the water services, along with appurtenances and related restoration work at various locations in the Village of North Aurora, Illinois. Improvements will provide adequate flow and water distribution.
The CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be examined and obtained at the office of the Engineer, Rempe Sharpe and Associates, Inc., 324 West State Street, Geneva, Illinois beginning January 20, 2015. A deposit of $40.00 non refundable, will be required for each set of plans and bidding documents obtained. All bidders must be IDOT pre-qualified.
A non-mandatory PRE-BID MEETING will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the Village of North Aurora Village Hall
All BIDS shall be submitted on the forms provided, and shall be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid, and subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders and Certificate of Apprenticeship Training by DOL-BAT.
The Village of North Aurora reserves the right to reject any and or all Bids, to waive any irregularities and informalities. Awards will be made to the lowest responsible Bidder as determined by the Village of North Aurora.
All applicable laws, ordinances, and the rules and regulations of all authorities having jurisdiction over construction of the Project shall apply to the contract throughout, including the Illinois Preference Act (Ill. Rev. Stat. Ch. 48, Sects. 2201-2207). Federal Labor Standards and Federal Prevailing Wage Rates apply to all work performed on the contract. It is the contractor’s responsibility to comply with these requirements and to assure compliance by his/her subcontractors and/or any lower tier subcontracts required by this contract.
