North Aurora River District Alliance (NOARDA)

The North Aurora riverfront area is the hidden gem of our village.  We invite you to visit and stay awhile…

• Pause at one of the most scenic vistas on the Fox River at the new overlook
• Learn about North Aurora’s history and the significance of the large red gears in the area
• Play at the Fox Valley Park District’s newly renovated Island Park playground

The North Aurora River District Alliance (NOARDA) is a new non-profit organization that will provide residents of North Aurora and surrounding communities with a dynamic and lively public gathering space.  We will embrace and connect the environmental features of the North Aurora riverfront. Our members are committed to a long term investment in the development of this space through a multi-phased design and construction approach.  We will continually program the riverfront area with events to ensure that it is a festive and vibrant community gathering destination.

The NOARDA organization includes volunteer board members from our community, representation by a village trustee, plan commission member and a Fox Valley Park District Board member as well.  This ensures that we have cooperative intent to advance the project over the coming years.

Village of North Aurora Riverfront Viability Study

The North Aurora Riverfront Viability Study has been completed, with the final report having been presented to the Village Board on February 25, 2008.  Attached to this page (to your right) is the PowerPoint presentation given to the Village Board in addition to the hard copy final report of the study’s findings.
